Foals - Total Life Forever

Even though Foals’ second album, Total Life Forever isn’t nearly as good as their first, it still holds much of the band’s charm. Like their earliest music, which is exciting and spastic, their new album is charged with their original electricity. The song “Miami” starts with a jumpy guitar strumming which gets incorporated to upbeat drums. Unfortunately the song’s power is lost a bit by the vocals that don’t manage to exploit what their instruments have to offer. It is indubitable that the instrumentation is much stronger than the singing. Nevertheless, the overall feel of their music is very fun and energetic.
Foals are playing in Boston on September 29 at the Paradise Rock Club.
