Album Review: Eli "Paperboy" Reed - Come And Get It

Eli "Paperboy" Reed's major label debut is a funky-fresh throwback to the soul music of the 60’s and 70’s. Backed by his band The True Loves, Reed’s mature, energetic voice blends brilliantly with blaring horns, soaring strings and a groovy rhythm section you can’t help but tap your toes to. Come And Get It is pure fun, consisting of love songs that’ll make you smile and an energy that seems to have come from another time, when things were simpler and carefree. The tunes range from the catchy “Young Girl”, to the slower-tempo “Pick A Number”, and the power-packed conclusion “Explosion”. Reed is a welcome newcomer to a music scene congested with a derivative and boring slew of electronic bands, and we’re all the better for it.

Eli “Paperboy” Reed and The True Loves will be touring up and down the Eastern United States through October.
